Srishti Arya was to the film industry born. Daughter of producer Ramesh Behl and sister of filmmaker Goldie Behl, she even married into the fraternity when she married her childhood sweetheart D.O.P. Sameer Arya. Srishtihas been an independent go-getter since her teenage days, when she jumped into the marketing world at the tender age of 15.
It was the sudden demise of her father that compelled the young Srishti and her brother Goldie Behl to shoulder responsibility of their production house Rose Movies. Shrishti made her production debut in 1998 with the multi-starrer ‘Angaaray’, a gritty thriller starring Akshay Kumar, Nagarjuna, Pooja Bhatt, PareshRawal and others. Following this, Shristhi produced Goldie’s directorial debut ‘Bas ItnaSaKhwaabHai’ (which she also co wrote) starring AbhishekBachchan and Rani Mukerjee in the lead roles. Her following projects included the 2008 release ‘Drona’, which again starred AbhishekBachchan with Priyanka Chopra as his female lead, ‘London Paris New York’ starring Ali Zafar and AditiRaoHydari and rom-com ‘I, Me Aur Hum’ starring John Abraham, Chitraganda Singh and Prachi Desai. Srishti’s future project include films to be directed but new age luminaries like Tigmanshu Dhulia, KunalDeshmukh, Abhishek Sharma and MohitSuri.
Apart from Bollywood, the spunky Srishti has also made a name for herself on the small screen when she floated Rose Audiovisuals pvt ltd. ‘Lipstick’ which was aired on Zee TV, was her debut show which was hailed as bold and new age and set the stage for the kind of differentiated programing that Rose would henceforth stand for. The latest in the series of such shows is the soon to be aired show on Star Plus.
Having now worked on all the GEC platforms, she has recently forayed into lifestyle and non-fiction programing and Web series.
An avid reader, feminist and hands on mom to her 14 year old son Veer, Srishti has an infectious joie de vivre which she hopes reflects in her cinema and television programs as well.
